DJ mix on Music Is My Sanctuary
There’s a brand new Titeknots mix in the air, and it’s been premiered by the fine folks at Music Is My Sanctuary
Lexis from MIMS has been a highly valued supporter of the Titeknots sound since day one. Hit the link below to read his kind words, or stream the mix directly via Mixcloud.
Titeknots just sort of came out of nowhere and has been killing it these past 12 months.
On 19th June I was invited up to Resonance FM in London to take over the airways for an hour. I used the opportunity to play some different styles to my usual club sets. Hit play on the Soundcloud to listen back to the recording.
I like moments of staleness and mildew, simply because it creates the lane for change. Remember when everything was full of color and happy-dappy when Bad Boy was running everything and then we came with DMX? Do you remember that summer? How excited people got? That’s my favorite moment—when I sit on a porch in the summertime and the air gets really thick. There’s no breeze. The birds start darting around. And then all of a sudden a violent storm comes through—raindrops as big as cups; lighting and thunder. I know when things get stale there’s someone making an opportunity.
The third Titeknots single release is here!

"This is one of the most solid EPs I’ve heard in a while" - TODD EDWARDS

“This stuff is great” - DJ ZINC (Rinse FM)
"I love all of these! Such forward thinking fresh music! Thank you!" - JUSTIN MARTIN (Dirtybird)
"Flawless indeed - class-class-classic” - FEADZ (Ed Banger)
“Dope” - NICK CATCHDUBS (Fool’s Gold)
“Bad Guys Won”/“Hummingbirds”, out 28th April, is the third in Titeknots’ quick-fire series of digital double A-side singles on Tru Thoughts, which have unveiled a hypnotic, genre-mashing take on house music from this UK producer.
This new package cements the essential sound of Titeknots with two unrelentingly appealing club tracks. Like a condensed horror film, “Bad Guys Won” sees a suspenseful intro of dark and sinister textures punched out of the way with satisfying violence by an insanely insistent beat, ratcheting up into a tough peak-time banger. Continuing the otherworldly edginess, but with a grin, “Hummingbirds” brings a driving, funky bassline; dropping out and building up in tantalizing fashion and shot through with a menagerie of piano hooks, vocal textures and animalistic shrieks.
